Traffic situation In front of our brewery-guesthouse there is a direct bus connection all the way into the city centre of Bamberg. Enjoy a visit of the city without searching for a car parking space, because you can park your car comfortably in our own large parking area. By bicycle you can reach Bamberg within 20 minutes comfortably, using the bicycle track. (-> Rent a bicycle)

Our beer-garden Before the ages of the modern cooling systems our beer barrels were kept and stored coolly in a beer cellar which lies in a hill in the middle of town. Every barrel of beer had to be wheeled on a cart to our guesthouse in the town-valley. Because this was very cumbersome work, one of our ancestors had the idea to set up a few benches above the beer cellar which was dug into the hill as a barrel warehouse and to pour out the beer there directly.

Snacks were prepared in a small house. These small beginnings developed into a real beer cellar enterprise where still to this day our beer and the pertinent snacks are being sold. At the beer cellar one sits beautifully shaded under a very old stock of trees. On the basis of these centuries of old stocks of trees our beer cellar was pronounced to be a natural monument in 1995.

Schloss Seehof (Lake-court castle) A special object of interest is the renaissance-castle which you can reach in 5 minutes on foot from our house. During a walk through the castle park with its large amount of ponds, you can relax body and soul. A guided tour through the castle provides you with an insight at earlier times.

Bamberg In the nearby seven-hill-city of Bamberg which is also called Rome of Bavaria, there is a lot to discover. As there you can find, for example, the cathedral with the last place of rest of the emperor´s pair and the Bamberg cathedral rider, small Venice or the guesthouse Schlenkerla with its unique smoked beer.   Guided tours in a different way! Obermaintherme Staffelstein Known as the home town of the world-famous arithmetic master Adam Riese and because of the new Obermain hot springs with one the strongest salt springs of Germany. Staffelstein is framed by the former Benedictine´s Abbey Kloster Banz and the baroque Basilica Vierzehnheiligen, both an absolute must for a tourist in Franconia.

Franconian Switzerland The nature reserve Franconian Switzerland, the land of the castles, caves and mills lies in the city-triangle Bamberg, Bayreuth and Erlangen. From our guesthouse you can take delightful day-trips to e.g. Gössweinstein with its famous pilgrimage church and its romantic castle, or to Pottenstein, the centre of one of the most popular vacation areas in Germany.
